Greece was among the first countries present at the Libyan crisis by providing humanitarian assistance in the area, in coordination with the international organizations and under the umbrella of UN. A humanitarian mission consisting of a ship that arrived in Benghazi in late May bringing food ,medicines and blankets, along with a fully equipped mobile medical unit that offered Emergency War Medical services to the victims of the civil war, were some of the actions of neighborhood solidarity of Greece towards the Libyan people , despite the strict financial Greek conditions that made any humanitarian effort of its kind extremely hard
