Revolutionary fighters liberate village in Nafusa

Revolutionary fighters, known collectively as the National Liberation Army (NLA), took control of the village of Al-Qawalish, south-east of Tripoli today after a six-hour battle with Gaddafi forces, a Reuters reporter in the village said.
Scores of revolutionary fighters poured into the village through an abandoned government checkpoint, firing their rifles into the air in celebration and shouting “Allahu Akbar!” (God is greatest!).
There was evidence of a hurried withdrawal by Gaddafi forces. Near the checkpoint there were collapsed tents, half-eaten bread as well as a van and an electricity transformer station which were both on fire, the reporter said.

"Libyans, from Benghazi to Nafusa, are celebrating more gains in the war to oust Gaddafi. Today, revolutionary fighters liberated the village of al-Qawalish, previously used by Gaddafi forces as a launch point for attacks in the western Nafusa Mountain range”
