Nafusa  Mountains: Kikla: Battles raging in Kikla at the intersecting road  leading to Al-Gawaleesh and near to the reservoirs of Al-Gawaleesh.   Outcome: 5 freedom fighters martyred, 7 injured.  Number of Gaddafi  forces killed/injured have yet to be determined.  The main c...ause of the martyrdom of these freedom fighters is the presence of snipers on the water tanks firing at the freedom fighters.

Nafusa  Mountains: Bir Al-Ghanam: Khaled Alkhweldi Alhmady is injured with two  bullets, one in his right leg and second in his shoulder.  This occurred  after fierce fighting between the Gaddafi forces and the freedom  fighters in the area of Bir Al-Ghanam near the city of Zawia.

Nafusa  Mountains: Gheryan (Al-Manara): The freedom fighters in the city of  Gheryan have attacked one of the checkpoints of the Gaddafi forces in  the intersection of the area of Taghrna.  The freedom fighters took  advantage of the panic and fear of the brigades after receiving warnings  from NATO.  This attack led to heavy exchange of fire killing 3 of the  Gaddafi forces injuring 11.

Nafusa  Mountains: Kikla: Heavy bombardment from Gaddafi forces on the city of  Kikla using missile launchers and grad rockets since the day break  today.  Several civilians in the city were injured.

Nafusa  Mountains: Kabaw: Freedom fighters of Kabaw clash with an armed group  belonging to the Gaddafi forces in the area of Tandmira.   They were  able to capture 14 of the Gaddafi forces.  Gaddafi forces kidnapped four  civilians from Tandmira.

Nafusa  Mountains: Yefren: The electricity generator has stopped  working/malfunctioned while some doctors were performing a surgery on  the abdomen of a wounded freedom fighter from Kikla.  Yefren is still  suffering from an electricity blackout since April 3rd except for a few  very old commercial electricity generators.  The hospital of Yefren is  providing services for the cities of Yefren, Al-Qala’a, Kikla and  surrounding areas.  The hospital of Yefren receives patients and injured  freedom fighters from the fronts located at Gawaleesh and Bir  Al-Ghanam.  In the past few days alone, the hospital of Yefren has  received tens of wounded patients.

Nafusa  Mountains: Kikla: Heavy continuous bombardment since yesterday at 8 pm  with rocket launchers, grad missiles, 106 artillery, and tank shelling  from the forces based near the water tanks near Gawaleesh.  One of the  shells has fallen on a civilian home killing a civilian resident inside.   The freedom fighters clashed with these forces, 7 of them were injured  with 2 severely wounded.  Also worth mentioning: every time Gaddafi  forces advance, they raid houses and burn them.

Nafusa  Mountains: Al-Qala’a: The freedom fighter who was martyred in the  battle of Gawaleesh yesterday was: Musa Ali Musa Grada.  He was buried  today Saturday July 2, 2011.
