International calls to Misrata landlines are now WORKING

The international calling from outside Misrata to the landlines has been on for the last 72 hours, but the number of calls is very low. The team is surprised with the low volume of calls, so it seems not everyone is aware that it is possible to call their families in Misrata. We need to get the word out to people that it’s possible to… call now. There are a lot of companies and parties involved in getting this service up & running. So far, this team has been able to get millions of dollars worth of equipment and telecom service donated to the Libyan cause. There is a concern that if we don’t get the volume up, they will not focus on keeping the service going. Please get the word out to everyone who has friends/relatives in Misrata with landlines to call so we can justify why we are insisting on the importance of this service.
To call the Misrata landlines, you will need to dial +218951 or +21952…notice you just add a “9″ to the existing number after the 218 country code. Please note that this is only for landlines, not Misrata cell phones.
If you are calling from the US or Europe, you must use a calling card from idtcalls.net or bossrevolution.com or bossrevolution.co.uk. In regards to calls from other countries, you can call using Du in UAE, Qtel in Qatar, Zain in Jordan and Etisalat in Egypt. Please spread the word!
